Hottest Week Ever

Image
What's up to my favorite people! I hope y'all are doing well. My week was so good; I think I'm still smiling from all the little tender mercies and miracles that we saw. Let's run it up! We're experiencing record-breaking temperatures out here this whole week, so it's been around 112°F with about 65% humidity, and we walked in it all day. It was literally so fun though! We mostly talked to people about Jesus Christ while sweat was dripping down our faces. I don't know how the Saints did it; I honor them with everything in me. We found Tim who knew all about the missionaries because he used to live next door to them and always had them over for dinner. We went back to teach Tim, but he didn't answer. I had a Book of Mormon that I knew someone needed that night, so I had a prayer in my heart the whole night that I would know who should receive it. We then felt prompted to stop by Cole, whom we found my first week here. His girlfriend answered and was so ki...

Hi everyone! Sorry I didn't write last week. Forgive me! These past 2 weeks have been very different than what I'm used to, but it's good. I'm learning a lot!! Here are some random highlights: Found 3 people my first week here who we aren't sure are going to progress, but it's okay; the work moves forward! Exchanges with Sister Almond!!! Fun fact: Sister Johnsen trained both of us, so we've been waiting for this moment. A member gave us a bunch of garden tomatoes, and if you know me, you know that made my whole day! Exchanges with Sister Francis, who has been out for 2 weeks and was in the same MTC district as my cousin Karter. Such a tender mercy! Zone conference!!! Sooo good and spiritual, ahhh!!! And so fun to see so many of my besties! LAST PDAY WE GOT TO GO TO THE IOWA STATE FAIR!!! Literally so cool and so fun! This area has been a big adjustment for me. Not a ton of progress, super slow, and a lot of rejection and rude people, haha, but I am learning ...

Back In Iowa Baby

Hey everyone, what's up? I hope y'all have had the best week. Transfers happened and I am now back in Iowa. Here are some highlights: I am with Sister Cowley, who is from Texas. We came out together, and we've served on opposite sides of the mission our whole mission, so it's so fun to be together. She lived in Provo before the mission, and she's going back after. This is such a blessing, knowing half of my companions are going to be in Utah. She is already my bestie, and all we do is talk. It's so much fun. I am back in the boonies. Wow, it's been a while, so I forgot what life is like outside of the cities. Haha. We don't have a lot of miles because our mission has been going over, so they keep cutting our miles. Sister Cowley and I have been walking EVERYWHERE. I have walked more in these past 2 days than my whole mission, I swear. But it's so fun; we just walk and talk to everyone we see. We are also going to be biking as well. I'm being very...

1 Year

I can't believe it has been a year since I hugged my family and left the comfortable life I had back home behind. Little did I know there were much BIGGER and BETTER things out here in Iowa/Illinois. I am so grateful I took a leap of faith and jumped into a world full of the unknown. This has been the best year of my life. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. I LOVE MY MISSION. I love the people I've gotten to serve around and the people I've met. This is truly the greatest experience I've ever had. I'm so grateful for this opportunity. Here are some highlights of my week: Let's just start with last P-day! We went bowling and I went crazy!!! I forgot that I'm kind of insane at bowling, so everyone was shook. I won both games and absolutely wrecked the elders. I got my highest score of 156. I started the second game with a strike on round 1. Sorry, I just have to publicly say on here how good I am, haha. Anyways... We're teaching this guy named Ca...
