Yoo!!! What is up everyone?? I can't believe it's already pday. I feel like I blink once and then it's pday. Time is flying, it's insane!! This week was good!! A lot of miracles so I'll give a few highlights!!
Last week we had zone pday in Nauvoo and that was sick!!! We played some bball and shoutout to my little bro Chuck, your bball trainings with me this summer paid off. Everyone thought I was a bball player!! That's what's up!!!!
- Terrance! We're still teaching Terrance and we brought a member to our lesson this week which was really good!! He keeps saying he wants to be baptized so he's working towards that which is sick!!! I love that dude he's so cool!!
- Service! We do service at this place called "the quarter store" every week which is basically like a thrift store which is hype! So shoutout to all my cousins who love thrifting and taught me how to thrift, you would love this place!!!!
- Funny moment: there's this guy in our branch who can't hear super well. We were singing in sacrament, and he was about a whole verse ahead of us and so in the silent parts you could just hear him belting it. Well, if you know me you know I can’t hold it in. I nearly died laughing so hard. Me and sis Johnsen laughed for a solid 10 mins. And the funniest part is it didn't faze anyone else. Hahah
I had a cool experience this week! I mentioned last week in my email how finding here is a grind and it really is. There's a lot of churches here so most people we talk to go to another church and won't budge. One day we were driving and I kind of felt like why am I here? I am giving up 18 months of my life and left the people i love which is not easy. So why? Me and Sister Johnsen sat down at a park and were making some calls when we noticed 2 boys playing bball. We felt like we should go talk to them, so we did. We got talking and explained that we are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. One of them asked "why do you believe in God?" And to be honest that got me thinking. I've been asked a lot of questions since I've been here, but no one has asked why I believe. And then I bore my testimony. I realized that I am here because I LOVE God. He blessed me with a wonderful family who loves me and supports me and motivates me to be better. He gave me friends who were the best examples to me to get me to where I am, here on a mission. He sent his ONLY begotten son Jesus Christ to die for us so that we can be with our families forever!!!! He gave us the Book of Mormon, the word of God that testifies of the truthfulness we learn!! And now I get the opportunity to share that with everyone I come into contact with!! I am called of God; I am given the authority to PROMISE people the blessings the gospel will bring them. My calling is so real and sacred, and I wouldn't change it for the world. So, I realized that it does not matter how many people we find, it's how many seeds we plant that will change their lives forever. I am so grateful for this opportunity. I have seen so many blessings both in my life and the lives of those I've taught from this gospel. It is so real, and it really is the truest thing on earth. I wouldn't trade being a missionary for anything in this world. And it breaks my heart when people don't give us a chance because they don't even realize how much their life would change. I love this gospel. I love Jesus Christ. And I love being a missionary!!!
I love you all and so does God!!! If you doubt that for even a second GET ON YOUR KNEES AND PRAY. He will answer you I PROMISE! send me pictures I love looking at them!!! And have a great week!!!!
Helaman 5:12 my favorite scripture
12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
Also, being a BYU is tough. It's okay though, we'll bounce back!!!!
