Kanye Who?

Hiii everyone!!! What is good?!? Wow what a week. So I'm just gonna jump right into it because it might be kinda long!! So sorry!! 

 

 

Miracles!!! Imma start with Katelyn!! She is a less active member who we are teaching once a week just trying to get her to come back to church. I've been praying a lot lately to be able to be more guided by the spirit. We had a lesson this week with her and I was asked to say the prayer so I did. After I finished she looked at me and said "it's crazy how people can pray for things for people that relate exactly to them" and I literally cannot even remember what I said to her. The spirit literally took over!!! But it sparked something and touched her. I'm so grateful for that and I'm so beyond grateful for the spirit and how much it guides me as a missionary. Without it literally nothing is possible! 

 

 

Charles!!! We're teaching this guy named Charles who is literally so dope!!! We were talking to him this week and getting to know him better. He is a rapper (lets gooo). I told him I've been to a Chance the Rapper concert and he loved that. He told us he's been to jail with Kanye and we literally died (i had no idea Kanye has been to jail so rip my guy Kanye, he was lowkey exposed) He said him and Kanye are homies. We told him to collaborate with him and he said "I'm working on it" so when you see Kanye drop a new album with our boy Charles shoutout!!!! His rapper name is OGLC (Original Gansta Lil Charlie) this dude is LEGIT!!! We're gonna convert him and then convert Kanye baby lets goo!!! Anyways we taught him and invited him to church and he said he would think about it. We told him we would show up Sunday morning so be ready. Well yesterday we showed up at 9:10, church was at 10. He opened the door and laughed and said "idk if I can make it I'm really struggling" we told him that church would help him and is the answer when we are struggling. Then we said "pray about it and ask God if you should come and we will be back at 9:40" we left and came back and knocked and he opened the door and looked at us and goes "yall ready" LETS GO BABY !!!! he told us that he couldn't find his keys and then he said "God should I go to church today?" And then found his keys!! It was so cool!!! He sang the hymns and told us that he is gonna make a rap about one of the hymns so let's gooo he is boutta be the new Kanye!!!! Look him up on SoundCloud for me, he keeps sending us his songs but our samsungs ain't letting us access them

 

 

Terrance!!! We've been trying to get Terrance to come to church again but he always bails last minute. As we're sitting in sacrament yesterday he texted us and said he wasn't going to be able to make it because he wasn't feeling good. Next thing ya know I turn around and he's sitting in the back!!! After sacrament we went up to him and asked him what made him decide to come. He said "something was making me feel like I had to be here" and let me tell you. It was fasting testimony meeting and some of the most powerful testimonies i have ever heard were shared!! So I know exactly why Charles and Terrance felt like they had to be there. They were told exactly what they needed to hear and know to be able to help them continue to learn more about this gospel! We also had 3 less actives come so that was so cool!!!! 

 

 

Some things I've learned on my mission so far:  

 

 

- God is full of miracles!!! If we have faith and look for them we will be able to see them every day even just the little things. It really is so amazing how many miracles we can receive in a day we just have to look for them!! 

 

 

- Being a missionary is so unique, when we ask the people we teach to pray and they do, the first thing they say in their prayers is "thank you for sending the missionaries my way, please protect them." Half of them don't even end up accepting the gospel and most of them ghost us (ahah) but they still pray for us and our safety. It's amazing to me. It's so cool that we're teaching these people to help them and most of them have some major struggles so we pray with them so that THEY can feel peace and comfort and they end up praying for the US. It truly is amazing!!! 

 

 

I'm sorry for the long email. My heart is just so full!!! I never knew I could have such a deep love for this small town and these incredible people! There's nothing I wouldn't do for them!! 

 

 

Scripture: 

2 Nephi 27:23 

23 For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith. 

 

 

This is the truth!!!!

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had the best week/Thanksgiving. Here are some highlights of my week. Okay, so flashback to a couple of weeks ago when I was serving in Indianola. Sister Hopkins and I went to visit a referral who said she wasn't interested. We noticed a dude sitting on his porch, so we went to walk over, but he was gone, and there was a big pit bull barking at us and running across the deck. We decided to knock on the house next door.
