First Transfer Down Baby

Hey everyone!!! How is everyone doing?? I hope everything is going well!! And I hope everyone had an amazing general conference weekend!!! This week has been insanely busy and crazy for me!!! We got transfer news last night and we didn't really think anything of it because you usually stay with your trainers for 2 transfers, well Psyche!!!! Sister Johnsen is getting transferred which means I'm leading this area and getting a new trainer!!! So pray for me because I am mad and stressed haha! As sad as I am that Sister Johnsen is leaving I know this is what the lord wants for the both of us!! I'm SO grateful for everything she taught me!!! And I can't wait to run it back with her in 16 months!! She really is the goat!!! 

 

 

- General conference as a missionary let me tell you, it's simply unreal!! I loved it so much and I'm so sad it's over and we have to wait another 6 months till the next one rip! I loved all of the talks so much and I especially loved how President Nelson talked about nurturing our testimonies and how we always need to be doing that! I love that even the president has to nurture his testimony! I've looked back on some of the trials in my life and how those really strengthened my testimony even if in the moment I didn't realize it! I also loved how President Nelson talked about overcoming the world. It's so true there is so much hate and violence going on in the world right now. I invite you all to do what he says and nurture your testimony so you can overcome the world!! Read your scriptures, pray, go to the temple, give someone a Book of Mormon, bear your testimony!!! Whatever that is, do it!!! You will overcome the world!!! 

 

 

- Went on my first exchange this week!! It was so lit!!! I forgot to take pics so rip. But I went with Sister Wright who is from Payson, Utah!! She's so sweet and taught me so much!! We were in Quincy, Illinois and let me tell you being in a city again had me in complete awe. Haha. But it also has some of the best sketch parts I have ever seen. We were contacting in this one area and we pulled up, it was late at night and like so dark. I thought I was gonna die, no joke. On the way there Sister Wright tells me all these sketch stories and I'm thinking ah that's tough imagine that. Then we pull up and she's like ya so all that happened here. I was like you're kidding I'm about to die. I look up in this window and just a mask is sitting there. I mean I know it's Halloween but come on that thing was literally scary as crap. Two Sister missionaries just walking these streets hoping for the best! But no fr it's crazy as a missionary how you literally fear no man. You constantly feel protected and even when you don't you know you're gonna be okay! We were safe and when we got back to the house we told the other sisters and they thought it was hilarious she dragged me there after telling me all these stories. We are good now, I'm chillin!!! We also found someone out of it so let's goooo!! 

 

 

Scripture: 

Alma 58:10-11 

10 Therefore we did pour out our souls in prayer to God, that he would strengthen us and deliver us out of the hands of our enemies, yea, and also give us strength that we might retain our cities, and our lands, and our possessions, for the support of our people.

11 Yea, and it came to pass that the Lord our God did visit us with assurances that he would deliver us; yea, insomuch that he did speak peace to our souls, and did grant unto us great faith, and did cause us that we should hope for our deliverance in him

 

 

Life is hard! It's not always easy. But I know without a doubt in my mind that Jesus is there for each and every one of us. He will deliver us out of the greatest trials we face, if we put our trust in him he will give us the strength we need to overcome those trials!! He will bring greater peace than we have ever felt before. All we have to do is ask for help!!! Literally if you're sad, angry, happy, anything, get down on your knees and pray to him!!! He will help you!!! I know for me, I don't know how in the world I'm gonna be able to lead an area that I am new to and am still figuring out all the people. But I know that God knows me and knows what I'm capable of and I trust him!!

Also shoutout to Mel she is literally the best and sent me and Sister Johnsen the cutest Halloween pj's!! I love her so much!! And shoutout to Sister Telford as well, she asked me what my favorite thing my mom made was and I told her crepes and she made them for conference for us!!

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had the best week/Thanksgiving. Here are some highlights of my week. Okay, so flashback to a couple of weeks ago when I was serving in Indianola. Sister Hopkins and I went to visit a referral who said she wasn't interested. We noticed a dude sitting on his porch, so we went to walk over, but he was gone, and there was a big pit bull barking at us and running across the deck. We decided to knock on the house next door. When we went to knock, the dude walked back outside. We walked back over to him and asked if he wanted to hear a message.
