Jail Breaker

Whatzzzz gooddd everyone?! This week was busy and awesome!! So let's get into it!!

Monday night: miracles baby

We are teaching this lady who is so sweet! We felt like we should just show up so we did! We knocked and the boyfriend let us in and was like she will be so happy to see you guys. She walked out in tears, she had just had a miscarriage that day. She told us that she felt like we were gonna stop by and she is so glad we did. Her boyfriend joined us for our lesson and so did 2 of their boys and they were all in awe. We told her that she will be with her baby again someday and she just sat and cried. We were in the right place at the right time and this family's life will forever be changed because of that moment. Whether or not they accept the gospel, they now are at peace knowing they will see their baby again someday!

Wednesday we had zone conference which was so fun!!!! It's so freakin fun being with other missionaries!! We went to chick fil a after and wow it has been a fat sec since I've had chick hahaha. I missed it so much!! We also had a lesson with Thaine and Debi who, let me tell you. My favorite people oh my gosh!!!! Debi is a less active and Thaine is not a member. 2 in one baby lets gooo. Thaine has done a complete 360 lemme tell ya! When he first started meeting with missionaries he did not believe in God or anything whatsoever. When I first got here he still was a little shaky on what he believed. But now, wow he tells us that he can't say that there is a God but can't say that there isn't. But he says he knows the BOM is true and he believes in Joseph Smith. Never heard anything like this cuz usually it's the opposite but hey we will take it!!! But he then proceeds to say "Well God did this" when we read the BOM. Don't worry we called him out (which don't worry he can handle) and he just laughed and smiled and said "yeah you're right!" Let's gooo. All he ever wants to do when we meet is read the BOM and he understands every single thing we read with him and is fascinated every time. It is soooo cool and the spirit is so strong every time!!!

The rest of the week was good as well tbh I don't remember half the things we do each week because all the days mix together so

Aight now some funny moments because I think these are hilarious hahahah

One day this week we were just starting personal study and we got a call, so we answered it! This dude starts talking about a ladies son in our branch who just passed away and is apologizing that he couldn't make it to the funeral. Then he starts going off about how he just broke out of jail. And is telling us exactly how. Rip my mans hopefully he is okay haha

Last night we were out knocking some less active people. We knocked this dude and he looks at us through the window and then yells "mom!!" The mom comes to the door, opens the door and shuts it and so i say "hi is Skylar home?" She says no haha (that is hat) I say "okay! What's your name?" She tells us and then I start sayin yanno the typical missionary thing and she cuts me off in the middle and just starts LOSING HER MIND. Let's just say the spirit restrained me in that moment! I almost went sicko mode on this lady but we didn't so we chillin!!! Finally I just laughed and said "okay" and we walked away. So then we go to this other house who we didn't know and I'm holding myself together hahahah. We knock and this lady answers and gets in our face and goes "who are you?" We start saying who we are and she cuts us off and goes "no, no ,no not interested". Anyways I think these are hilarious, and they also make me sad so please pray for these people's hearts to be softened!!!

Spiritual thought:

This is a quote from Elder Holland in "missionary work and the atonement" I invite you all to go read or listen to it. It will have you in tears I'm not kidding. It is so powerful!!!

"I am convinced that missionary work is not easy because salvation is not a cheap experience. Salvation never was easy. We are The Church of Jesus Christ, this is the truth, and He is our Great Eternal Head. How could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never, ever easy for Him?"

It's not even missionary work that isn't easy. It's life!!! And I love this because it was never ever easy for our Savior. He suffered from every pore for the sins of the world. The entire world!!! So when you are struggling and you feel like there's no way out, remember "how could we believe it would be easy for us when it was never, ever easy for him?"

I love you all!!! God and Jesus Christ do too. I cannot testify to that enough. Have the best week!!! If ya'll ever need anything please let me know
