Straight Out Of A Movie

We out here!!!! Another week with a lot of wild events as usual. expect nothing less from mount pleasant baby lets gooo!! 

 

 

Transfers!!

Got my new comp she is from West Jordan, Utah!! Her name is Sister Otto!!!  She's been out almost 11 months! She is one of the sweetest people ever! It feels so weird because she's still training me, but I like training her at the same time because she knows literally no one here! This week we were doing service and she looked at me and goes "sister liljenquist did you ever have culture shock when you got here?" I started dying laughing. I completely forget that a lot of the things that happen here are just not normal. I was trippin because I remember being in that exact spot over a month ago just so in shock I thought I was gonna die. Don't worry she's getting more settled and we now laugh about a lot that goes on here. She's served in Des Moines and Iowa City her whole mission, so first time in the boonies for her!!! Im lovin it!!! I'm so lucky that I get to show her around and grow her love for Mount Pleasant, because this place really is so unique and awesome!!!

 

 

This week we had a lesson with Liz who I talked a little about in my first email here. She is one of my favorite people here and I seriously love her so much. Why? Idrk but she literally keeps me on my toes. She struggles a lot and almost every lesson we have with her she can never focus. Literally ever. Shocking coming from me, I know hahah. But it's bad! Well she literally let us talk the whole time which is rare with her. Side note: I don't know a ton of stories in the BOM. Well we did a BOM read with her and I talked about the whole chapter and was able to explain exactly what was going on. The spirit was so strong. Then she asked me to say the closing prayer so I did. After she said "sister Liljenquist, there are 2 times I have felt full body chills like that. When I got a blessing and when I prayed one time. And you just gave me full body chills" we left and Sister Otto looked at me and told me she felt the spirit so strong the entire time too. That was such a testimony builder for me. And it made me realize that I know more than I think I do. I use to hate praying because I always thought my prayers were dumb and just meant nothing. But it meant something to her and that made me realize that that is never the case! I also realized that the spirit literally carries. This week I have had to lead a lot more than usual and let me tell you the spirit has carried me and it has strengthened my testimony so much!!! 

 

 

My last night with Sis johnsen was probably one of the coolest nights on my mission so far. We were knocking Charles' door and this lady next door opened the door and said "I need to speak to you two". We left Charles after and went straight to her door. We knocked and she let us in. She said "I was praying you 2 would knock on my door" it was a super spiritual moment and we had a super amazing lesson with her! 

 

 

Sorry this week is jumbled. I don't have a ton of time but we also went and did service on Saturday morning at a members house with the branch. I found a frog in the house and we also found 2 snakes. I almost died. I also can't figure out how they just burn everything here everywhere, I must be from Utah. I feel like I'm straight out of a movie 24/7 and it keeps me on my feet hahaha 

 

 

We went thrifting today at goodwill which was hype!!! We also went to a mall and there was a store called "Hibbett sports" they had some drip and it really made me miss shopping at home with the fam and going in just about every Nike or shoe store we could!!!! Also made me miss getting fitted hahaha!! But it was so lit!!

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had the best week/Thanksgiving. Here are some highlights of my week. Okay, so flashback to a couple of weeks ago when I was serving in Indianola. Sister Hopkins and I went to visit a referral who said she wasn't interested. We noticed a dude sitting on his porch, so we went to walk over, but he was gone, and there was a big pit bull barking at us and running across the deck. We decided to knock on the house next door.
