He Is Risen!

Supp to all my fav people!!! I hope you all had a great week and Easter! My week was crazy busy but GOOD! So let's run it up!! 

 


Tuesday: we survived another tornado! We had to stay in most of the day but then we were able to go out for a couple of hours. Then it started to storm so we made it home right in time for the sirens to go off and hide in the closet hahaha 

 


Wednesday: had a super good lesson with Blake and put him on date, let's goo!!!! 

 


Thursday: went to Nauvoo for the day!!! Sister Otto had something called a "sprint trip" where Pres and Sister Barney take the people who are about to go home to Nauvoo to do a session at the temple and tour all the sites, carthage, etc! Super cool!! So I got to hang out with Sister Eldredge for the day and mob around Nauvoo until our comps were done!!! 

We got back after dinner and went to a lesson with our friend Robert. I kid you not, Robert's house is a gold mine. Legit. everytime we knock, someone new answers the door haha! We found 2 more people that night and then went to a less active house after and it turns out her granddaughter is also interested in meeting with us! literal miracles!!!! 

 

 

Friday: We have a recent convert named Madi who is 11 and we're teaching her mom (Carissa) and dad (Jake) . We've been struggling with what to do with them because we're trying to be more bold and stop teaching people who aren't ready. So we had a lesson with Carissa and our bishop, his wife and daughter came. It was literally the best lesson I've ever been a part of. Turns out it was an answer to our prayers and EXACTLY what she needed. Our bishop literally popped off and testified like I've never seen before! They are now going to get married, so we get to plan a wedding, let's goo and she is currently on date LETS GOOO!!! Jake is also getting more interested as well!!!

Saturday: nothing too crazy so imma skip this day haha 


 

Sunday: EASTER!!! Literally an emotional day for me! I felt the spirit so strong the whole day as I kept reflecting on my Savior and his resurrection. I am soooooo eternally grateful for him and his sacrifice. I know that He has risen and because of him we can rise again one day. It's so amazing that one day we can see our loved ones who have passed on and be together with our families for eternity. It's literally all because of him! 

My all time favorite talk as a missionary is "missionary work and the atonement" by Jeffrey R. Holland. I listened to it twice Easter morning. I love it so much. It brings me to tears every time. 

if you're preparing for a mission or thinking about going. listen to it. And if not, still listen to it. You will not regret it! 

 


Anyways, Easter was awesome. We took some Easter treats around which was so fun, and had dinner with a member!! Of course we got to talk to our families as well which was great! Holidays as a missionary are next level. I never thought I would love it so much, but I do!! 

 


Spiritual thought: 

 

Wherefore, fear not even unto death; for in this world your joy is not full, but in me your joy is full.

 


I have felt this. I feel this right now. I have never felt so much joy as I have on my mission. When we focus on Christ we feel the most joy. I KNOW this is true!

 

Yo shoutout to the cuz!!! Opened his mission call with my fam last week at Disney World in Orlando, Fl during the firework show! Called to serve in the Jacksonville, Florida mission!!! Literally sooo sick!!!!!! 

 


Also, one of my all time favorite people in Mount Pleasant passed away this past week, super sad news. Please pray for the branch and her family! They really need it! Thank you

Happy Monday, everyone! Hope you all had the best week/Thanksgiving. Here are some highlights of my week. Okay, so flashback to a couple of weeks ago when I was serving in Indianola. Sister Hopkins and I went to visit a referral who said she wasn't interested. We noticed a dude sitting on his porch, so we went to walk over, but he was gone, and there was a big pit bull barking at us and running across the deck. We decided to knock on the house next door. When we went to knock, the dude walked back outside. We walked back over to him and asked if he wanted to hear a message.
