"Practice Makes Perfect"
Sup everyone! I love you all! Another week out here! Also, it's gone from 80 degrees to like 30 within a couple of days, so that is super unfortunate haha! It's all good though! This week was good and busy, so I'm just gonna give some highlights.
Monday night after pday ended, we were going to visit someone, and right before we got out of the car, we witnessed a breakup. Literally. The man was sobbing, walking away, and she ran inside. Next thing you know, the man comes sprinting back for her! Fresh from the notebook. Pray for your man's, fr!
Anyways, we went to another part of our area that is 30 minutes away and were able to give Floyd a Book of Mormon! We also drove past a cheer gym there, and it took me wayyyy back to my MACS days and made me realize how much I miss cheer, fr!
We also go by this less active member every week, and this week he showed us his iguana that is 6 feet, hahaha.
Had the dopest lesson with our boy Jason and Tim. We found Jason a couple of weeks ago neighbor knocking, and we found Tim just sitting outside, so we talked to him, and he was interested! They're like neighbors, kinda, and so it's so funny we go have a lesson with Jason, then walk over to Tim and have a lesson with him! It's super sick.
Last week we gave Jason a Book of Mormon and invited him to read the introduction. We came back, and the whole thing was marked up, and he asked us questions, so we talked about it, and it was sooo sick! We invited him to read 3 Nephi 11, and we came back this week, and he had it all marked up as well and explained literally the entire chapter to us! Literally so dope!!!! We asked if he wants to be baptized, and he said he wants to keep learning more, but he is gonna pray about it!
For some reason, every time we have a lesson with Tim, there's a whole freakin' thunderstorm, haha. Last week it was thundering and lightning like crazy, and this week it was rainy and windy, and the tornado sirens were going off, haha. BUT we managed to get through, and he keeps every commitment! It's super dope!!!
I also went on exchanges with Sister Waite and Sister Barnard in Galesburg Friday and Saturday! The first time being in a trio for a sec, and it was so weird having 3! But it was fun!!! I loved being with them!!
This guy named Butch took us to dinner! He's been meeting with the missionaries for 5 years. He's read the Book of Mormon and comes to church every Sunday and knows literally everything but is still not baptized. I asked him why he hasn't been baptized, and he said it has nothing to do with the church; it's just personal reasons. Then he said he and his bishop have a deal so he will, for sure, be getting baptized this year! Let's goo!!! He's soooo cool and the sweetest old man ever!!
We also were able to go to Macomb, which is an hour away from Galesburg, on Saturday for someone Sister Barnard taught's baptism!!! It was one of the most precious baptisms I've ever witnessed! It took 2 times, and after the first one, the husband yelled, "Practice makes perfect," and I nearly died; it was so funny.
Her son, who converted a year ago, baptized her, and it was the coolest experience I've ever been a part of. I felt the Spirit so strongly as I watched this sweet woman follow the Savior's example and enter the waters of baptism! I am so grateful that I was able to be there!
Also, a shoutout to my mom and Whitney (my hair lady) who sent me hair stuff! Last P-day, I dyed Sister Otto's hair! She told me she wanted to look fresh walking off the plane next week, and of course, I had to deliver! She looks like such a queen!
Spiritual thought:
Go read Moroni 10:3-5 and get down on your knees and pray with a sincere heart, and ask God if the Book of Mormon is true.
I can testify that you will receive a direct answer! The Book of Mormon has completely changed my life, and I know it can change yours too, if you let it. I know without a doubt it is true! It is truly the word of God, and I know that Joseph Smith translated it through revelation from God. I can't live without it. Let God prevail. Your life will never be the same, I know mine isn't.
God is too good. We are so lucky!
Peace and love!!!!
