Happy Birthday Laurenkiss4
Yo! What's good?! This week literally flew by!!! Probs 'cause I just had pday like 3 days ago, haha. But this week was solid, so I'mma give some highlights!!!
Tuesday, we went to the temple to do baptisms with Blake!!! It was so wholesome because my kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Giles, and her husband were there as temple workers and were so good to Blake!! We also had an RM from our stake come to fellowship Blake!!!
And of course, it's always so good to be in Nauvoo! I love that place so much!!!
Wednesday, we had our ward BBQ, and it was sooo good!!! We had so many people pull up, and it was so awesome! Some of our people brought friends/family!!! And a bunch of less active members came, including ones we haven't met yet! We are continuing to see SOOO many miracles out here in Pekin, baby! Let's gooo!
Thursday was pday, so we went to the cat museum! It was kinda mid, tbh, hahaha, but now I can check that off of my list, I guess, haha!
Friday, we went to a boonier part of our area, and it was actually so fire! We got into contact with some people, and it was super good!!
Saturday, we had a super fire lesson with Carissa! We decided to let the Spirit guide our lesson, and it ended up being soooo spiritual and exactly what she needed. We talked heavily about the Atonement and how Christ suffered all of her temptations. She is trying to overcome some Word of Wisdom things, so we've been working with her. She asked us to push her date because she feels like she can't do it. We testified that she can, and she told us that she has felt Satan working on her and making her feel like she can't. She's still set for her date, July 15th. She has more faith than anyone I've ever seen, and it's truly incredible to witness. I gave her a very specific promise that when she went to church the next day, she would hear something that would help her with what she needs. That is exactly what happened at church. It's so cool to see the Spirit work in this great work!
Sunday, we had a mission-wide devotional with Elder Christofferson, and he talked about how the Book of Mormon is our most powerful tool in conversion. It's gonna save us in these latter days. It was sooo powerful!
This is the latter days; we are running out of time, I feel it.
There's no better time to be a missionary than now!
Read your Book of Mormon every single day, and I promise you will become truly converted!
Love, Sister Liljenquist
Quotes:
*Sis Warner talking about how in the Bay at basic they would play trucks instead of cleaning.
Elder Weber: "Great, so I'm paying the government just so you can play trucks."
On the phone with my dad while he's golfing
Mid convo,
Me: "Dad, did you just set down your phone in the middle of your turn?"
Dad: "Gosh dang it, I just missed my birdie."
Asking Elder Breinholt who his celebrity crush is
Elder Breinholt: "I've never watched a movie and been like ooooh."
Elder Weber: "Alright, get outta here."
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEST FRIEND LAURZ THIS WEEK!!! If you know me, then you know Lauren! I'm so grateful for her and the example she is to me. She has truly been by my side through all the good and the bad. She's the sister I've always wanted. She is the funniest person I have ever met! We get asked everywhere we go if we are sisters, but like, we lowkey are haha! I miss living with her and being attached at the hip 24/7. I love her and miss her so much! Here are some pics of us :)))
