Waukee = The Crown

Hi friends and fam, what is up? I love you all! It's been a crazy couple of days, so here are some highlights.

I don't think saying goodbye to members and areas will ever get easier, honestly. I love Indianola; I learned so much about myself and grew much closer to Heavenly Father and my Savior. It was definitely my hardest area work-wise, but I know it's what God knew I needed. I'm a better person because of the people I met there and the missionaries I served around. I'm so grateful for the time that I spent there. Also, saying goodbye to Sister Cowley was so sad, but I'm so happy I still get to serve 20 minutes away from her, in a different zone but still. I love her so much, and I'm so grateful for her.

Okay, you guys, Waukee is so boujee! Apparently, we have the 2nd smallest area in the mission, but it's also the boujeest, I'm convinced. Everyone at transfers kept saying, "You're going to the promised land," and they weren't lying. Our ward is literally fantastic. They have been so welcoming and kind. Our first MCM, we were given names of people to stop by and things to do. They also take care of our meal calendar, and they apologized to us for not having enough meals when we only had like 2 empty spots. There are also so many youth, I feel like I'm in my home ward. It's too good.

We also have one of the nicest apartments in the mission; I swear, it's so boujee. Sister Kinghorn and I are living luxuriously.

Sister Kinghorn and I are having a ton of fun! We've been so busy trying to get to know people and find people to teach. It's been so good. We found Michael and Tony our first 2 days here. Michael is young and was excited to meet us! We knocked on Tony's door, and he told us it wasn't a good time but set up his return appointment. It was great. I am so excited to continue to work and see miracles here in Waukee; I know they are coming.

Now let me share a funny story. I'm just going to throw myself under the bus and admit I have a lot of stuff. Well, Sister Kinghorn does as well. Luckily, some elders swarmed us at transfers and didn't let us lift a single thing. They moved our stuff from car to car and loaded it for us. It was a tender but embarrassing moment, realizing that together the stuff we had combined made our tail end sag so hard the trunk was almost touching the tires. No joke. Elder Hall says, "I move 700 lbs of weights, and our car has never looked like that." Thank you, Elder Hall. This is a memory for the books.

"If you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!" (D&C 18:15; emphasis added).

Not only that, but great shall be the Lord's joy in the soul that repenteth! For precious unto Him is the one.

I know I am exactly where I need to be.

I am excited to find the one, the one that will do whatever it takes to change their life and fully accept the gospel of Jesus Christ and let Him change their life forever.

I love being a missionary; there is truly nothing better than this!

I love you, so does Jesus.

Love, Sister Liljenquist.
