"You Just Don't Get It".... Iykyk
Greetings, lads and lassies!
'Tis your favorite princess, Lil Kimmy Quist, the complete menace and unit on any court, and queen of cuticle care.
It brings me copious amounts of joy to report the past week. 'Twas indeed a vivacious and insouciant week.
So where shall I start? Well, let's begin with the icon himself, Elder Pettitt. For the past three weeks, he has pulled up to our district P-day, making it indubitably radical and will inevitably make a return next week.
Alright, that's all the time I have.
TTYL, lovers!
Okay, Sister Liljenquist here now.
You know those times when you go on your favorite vacation with your favorite people and you just want time to stop?
Welcome to my brain, hahaha. I just wish time would stop.
I thank my Heavenly Father every day for placing me in a district and zone leadership with these amazing missionaries who I love so freakin' much. This is about to be the hardest breakup I've ever been through, saying goodbye to my best friends, haha.
My heart is truly so full and so broken at the same time!
But it's okay because we are not done yet. Period.
This week was honestly such a blur, haha. But I went on two exchanges, one with Sister Niedermayer in Walnut Hills and one with Sister Freeman in Osceola!
With Sister Niedermayer, we had a lesson with Celine and Esther, who are two of the people they are teaching! Celine is 10, and when we talked about the importance of baptism, she said, "I am so ready." But it gets even better when at the end, we're wrapping up, we asked if there was anything we could do for them. Celine stands up and says, "Yes, have a dance party," and starts dancing. I said, "Do you know how to griddy?" She goes, "Oh, of course," stands up, and starts gridding around the whole house. Here I am gridding with a 10-year-old and her little siblings. She is such an icon. Can't wait for her to be famous one day.
Sister Freeman and I did some contacting where we pulled up to a less active member's house who still has their Halloween decorations up (this is a thing in the Midwest). There's a sign on their door gate that said, "Warning, beware of dog, keep gate shut, do not enter without permission or with owner present." So we knock on the post since we couldn't get to the door. They come walking out with a herd of dogs. We taught them on their porch with dogs and cats surrounding us, and as we were leaving, two of the cats followed us to our car.
We then found Grace, who said she had just been talking to her friend about religion prior to us knocking. There are no coincidences.
I can't help but feel so much gratitude. There's nothing I love more than walking the streets of Iowa. I just feel so complete and so whole because of this experience. Iowa is going to have a piece of me forever. I just can't believe that I haven't known it like this my whole life; I was missing out so bad.
Sorry for a lame email. I promise my last one will be the best one yet.
Just know how much I love you; I know you're loved by a Heavenly Father and a Savior who want you to be so happy!!!
See you next week.
